We have ants in the utility room. I blame the cat. We have scattered ant powder. Let’s see how that works out for us.

Ugh, I hate ants inside. We usually get them in the spring and then go nuclear trying to get rid of them. My husband is obsessed with preventing them, and he follows the kids around pointing out crumbs and wrappers they neglect to throw away (they’re young-ish). We have had most success with liquid baits (by Terro).

We once had the world’s most exploratory ants that arrived in our second floor bathroom but nowhere else in the house – climbers, clearly. We blocked the hole they were coming into with ant powder..that sorted them out!
Good luck with yours…
Update – the ant powder has worked. Reprieve may only be temporary of course. I blame the cat because her food bowl is there but to be fair to her, she doesn’t leave much for the ants to work with.

Why are we blaming the cat?
