No, because I have heard of this chap before, and I know a few people from other countries who have learned Irish as adults and became rapidly fluent. I know a Czech programmer whose Irish is essentially perfect and who now makes his living working in Irish (on focal.ie). Apparently Czech grammar makes Irish grammar look laughably simple.
