We’ve decided to do NaBloPoMo too, though we haven’t signed up officially. There are two of us so in theory it should be easy, but our normal blogging pace is slow so I think we will actually have to work hard to achieve it. Would you like some suggestions for topics? If you have any suggestions for us that would be quite useful.
Very good. Will check in on you. One year, I did a bit about all the blogs I read regularly – that was quite good, actually, but I read far fewer blogs now and I’m not sure it would stretch, don’t know about you guys.
If you’re up for it, I would like to hear your thoughts on traditional Irish music. I’m a fiddler, and I’ve often heard that many Irish don’t really like the music so much – just like not every American likes bluegrass or jazz or old-timey music…

Suggested topic (of interest to us as immigrants to Ireland and inhabitants of Dublin): Dublin vs. Cork.

Well, at the risk of exposing just how boring my evenings must be, I for one *am* excited that you will be posting every day. My only defense is that after taking care of small children all day, my evening down-time can’t include reading material heavier than mommy blogs. Actual books? I read four during a ten-day vacation, but now I’m out of good stuff to read again.
Theme ideas: you seem to be very well traveled. . .how about going through the list of countries/major cities you’ve visited and write about one each day–with a favorite memory/experience/travel disaster. Even if that will only carry you through a week or two, it’s something, right? Or how about a childhood memory each day? Could be a long story some days, or a very short remembered moment on other days. That would also serve a purpose as far as getting things in writing for your children about your own childhood. . .I know you use this blog to record *their* childhood, but they’ll love to read about yours someday as well. Unless of course you’ve always been as good at keeping a journal as you are now, and they have volumes to read that you actually wrote during your childhood. Following the vein of serving posterity, what about small pieces of family history? I may be one of very few readers who actually enjoys that sort of thing, but I love hearing about where ancestors came from, stories that have been passed down, etc. Unless again you and your mother have already dutifully written all of these things. No need to reinvent the wheel just for blogging purposes.
Oh, Angeline, humiliatingly, I just don’t know enough.
And a very good theme that is too, Tabliope.
Dot, good suggestion and one warm to my heart, obviously, but I am quite taken with Kara’s genealogy notion. Perhaps, I’ll do that when all other fruit fails – imminent, I fear.
Kara, you are a saint, if you are going to read a whole month’s worth – I think I will try the genealogy thing…

Very useful, in fact. I often have ideas for posts at lunchtime that by the time the children are in bed have entirely evaporated.

Suggestions v. welcome for themes.

there’s a theme?
My theme will be: it’s a posting – read it.
