You can get red goosberries here – not sure how they are for making jam (I had a guest last week who bought some, and though I had vague thoughts of jam, my friend, with a taste for thing slightly sour, ate them all!)
We only had brown sugar when it came to it, so we went with that with the results you observe.
Lauren, I think we have red gooseberries too, am sure that absolutely everything can be made into jam as have seen my friend M’s extraordinary larder where he stores his lifetime’s supply of conserves created with his own fair hands.
