In the grand tradition of Irish MILs I intend to hate my DIL’s guts anyway for not being good enough for my precious son. So serve her right! Seriously though – what a load of baloney!
I always think it is easier, once you are a mother, to just accept the basic truth that everything is our fault. That way you get no nasty surprises and can get on with life with barely a blemish on your conscience.
Lucy, this is good advice, I think I will take it.
Thalie, I notice evil old Oliver James got his spoke in at the end though…
Dot, I did appreciate your very witty comment (quite right too, though if interest rates go up, I may be working and spending the evenings with my coffee cup on Nassau st.) but unfortunately, dumbly, posted this twice and attempts to rescue the comment failed. Sigh. Thanks though.

This man would certainly bear out that theory: http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2010/mar/28/victoria-coren-pal-sarkozy
Assuming, that is, that we can include men who actually start their womanising with their nannies – and congenital liars.

Praxis, rather amusingly, google ads offers “nannies in France” beside the article.
