Her (outraged and, also quite correct): But it will be raining. Summer holidays are in the sun.

When I was 8 we came back from living in Cyprus, and as we landed at Heathrow, with the rain lashing against the plane window, I apparently turned to my dad and said “Why have we come here? It’s raining”.
I guess he felt the same way you did just then.

Well, it is supposed to be a hot summer this year…. You could always remind her it is even worse in Belgium!
